About Us
Mission Statement
WiSH offers service and educational opportunities in addiction medicine and the treatment of people with substance use disorders. We train students in health care professions to work with this often neglected population, allowing them to contribute meaningfully to their community, help address structural barriers to care, and learn more about the goals and applications of harm reduction. Ultimately, we try to ensure Weill Cornell medical students become compassionate caregivers for all patient populations.
Goal
The Weill Students for Harm reduction (WiSH) Project is a student-led initiative to improve student engagement with people with substance use disorders (SUDs). We aim to:
- Directly improve access to Narcan and other harm reduction supplies through WiSH on the Go.
- Provide harm reduction research and educational opportunities for Weill Cornell students.
- Increase Weill Cornell’s engagement with community organizations throughout New York City.
